Artist Profile: Flock Home
We are happy that the freshly designed goods of Flock Home have nested here at Modern Mouse. Alameda resident Gina Pericini creates linen towels, napkins, and stuffed pillows printed with her artwork in earthy tones that are perfect accompaniments for the natural and outdoorsy Californian lifestyle.
The Flock Home Story:
Gina Pericini started making bedding and clothing as a teenager — dyeing fabrics, making her own patterns, and crafting bohemian, Holly Hobby-esque items for herself and her friends. Eventually, she began selling her work at various public markets in the Pacific Northwest, then made the move to California. After studying fashion and textile design throughout the Bay Area, she launched several well-received lines of custom-printed hats and apparel. Whether she’s cruising libraries for thick tomes on the natural sciences or simply bicycling through her neighborhood to the sound of bird song, Gina — and her Flock Home Linens line — are all about bohemianism, optimism, and California dreamin’!
In Her Other Life:
“My current day job is being a Mom to a toddler.”
Did you know?
Gina’s line got written up in the San Francisco Bay Guardian newspaper’s annual “Best of the Bay” awards and in the weekly East Bay Express newspaper, as well as an exciting mention in Women’s Wear Daily.
