However, you might not have realized that our very own Matt Ortega is the mastermind and maker behind Kuro-Same Arts–that awesome line of steampunk inspired jewelry that you’ve had your eye on! Yes, yes, it’s true! And that’s not all: between work, school, and …

We love having Philly-based designer Katie Pietrak Vintage Vinyl Journals in our shop! The fun notebooks are perfect for aspiring artists, students, or people on the go. Vintage Vinyl Journals rescues the forgotten vinyl record and lovingly crafts a one-of-a-kind blank writing notebook for those who appreciate a simpler time – when albums started with a pop and a hiss as needle met groove and thoughts were recorded pen to paper. We had a record turnout for February’s Valentine-themed Crafty Hour! With a back room filled with grown-ups, kids, and families, the felt was flyin’ and some amazing crafts were created. With simple supplies and a little inspiration from some actual candy hearts (yum!), we made enough felt hearts to fill a giant-size box!

Tomoko makes it easy to spread the joy by offering a variety of products, including …
Another Crafty Hour for the books! They just keep getting better and better; now we just need to turn our “craft room” into one of those tents from Harry Potter that magically hold hundreds of people. This month we were inspired by San Francisco-based Yellow Owl Workshop’s great guide to hand-printing, Print Workshop. Designer Christine Schmidt created so many simple and satisfying projects, we just had to try one.…

Making stuff can even be a stress eliminator, because you can use some of the goodies you’ve made as gifts. People love getting handmade gifts (and Xboxes, of course); and they’re the often the ones that …
